Active Communities Together

Our mission is to improve quality of life through inclusive, community-focused initiatives that promote wellbeing, belonging and opportunities for all.

We create and support accessible spaces for recreation, leisure, and social connection, especially for those facing challenges such as age, disability, financial hardship or social isolation.

Active Communities Together Limited is a Community Benefit Society dedicated to enriching lives and strengthening communities.

Operation of Leisure & Community Wellbeing Facilities

At Active Communities Together, we manage a diverse network of leisure facilities with a single purpose: to improve community well-being. From local community halls and school sports partnerships to fully equipped leisure centres with swimming pools and fitness suites, our expertise is extensive. We are committed to creating inclusive spaces that support physical activity, encourage social engagement, and inspire healthier lifestyles

Our facilities host a wide range of activities, including swimming, squash, badminton and GP referral programmes, as well as targeted health initiatives such as MSK rehabilitation, cancer prehabilitation, healthy weight management programmes and many more. We partner with qualified experts to provide obesity and weight management support, diabetes programmes, and nutritional advice, each tailored to meet the needs of individuals facing health or social challenges.

Collaboration is central to our approach. We work closely with partners across various sectors and welcome new opportunities to expand our reach, enhance our impact, and ensure that more people can stay active, connected, and healthy within their communities.

Board of Directors

The society is overseen by its team of independent Board Members and regulated by the mutuals division of the Financial Conduct Authority. The Board consists of five experienced professionals who have particular expertise in the running of not-for-profit businesses and the operation of sports and leisure facilities.

Between them, the Board Members have significant experience of working for local authorities at a senior level, and also include a former solicitor and a nationally recognised health and safety expert. The Board Members are:
